Nursery

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
-Matthew 19:14

Check-in Procedures

Services: Saturdays at 6:00 PM and Sundays at 9:00 AM & 10:45 AM
For 0 to 24 months: Check in at the Nursery counter. We use a three tag system; one tag stays with you, one is placed on the diaper bag, and one is placed on the child. On your first visit you will be asked to fill out a registration card and have an identification picture taken. The picture will be taken with you and your child and anyone else who will be picking up your child. This picture will be attached to the registration card. On future visits, you simply pull your child’s card from our file and give it to the nursery attendant. It will be placed on our board inside the nursery so that your child’s information is readily available to the nursery workers.

Please hand your child to the trained caregiver with a good-bye hug or kiss and let them know you will be back for them in a little bit. It is normal for babies to cry when leaving a parent, but this usually doesn’t last long when the caregivers show that child love and comforting attention. Be assured extra attention will be given to your child until he or she is happy.

What to Bring

Always bring a minimum of 2 diapers. For the safety and health of our workers and other babies, please send disposable diapers. A change of clothes (especially pants)
An unbreakable bottle of water, juice or milk. Special blanket, pacifier, or something that comforts your child.

Please label everything – blankets bottles, pacifiers, etc…

Food and Drink

We are happy to give bottles or food supplied by the Parents. We will not give medications.
We have water, cheerios and fish crackers on hand for the toddlers. Please indicate on the registration card if your child is allowed to have these.

When Not to Bring Your Child

Please bring your child only when well. We will not be able to check-in children that are ill. Please help us keep our Nursery a healthy place.
Let us know of any allergies your child might have so we can clearly mark your information.

When You Pick Up Your Child

Present your claim tag to the volunteer at the Nursery Counter.
Check to see that you have all of your child’s belongings, and that all the tags have been returned.

The Nursery Environment

We want to assure you that your child comes into a clean environment. The rooms are cleaned on a regular basis. Each crib, swing, and changing table is wiped down with antiseptic after every use. Each baby placed in the crib has a clean sheet and blanket. The toys are washed after Sunday use.

How Can You Support the Nursery?

Your patience is appreciated when leaving and picking up your child. Our desire is to provide a calm, unhurried atmosphere for each child coming or going.

If you have been attending for at least 6 months, we ask that you serve in our nursery one or more times a month. This is a great benefit to you and the church. You will have the opportunity to meet other parents and minister to the children your child stays with. Please speak with our Nursery Coordinator to get orientation information.

Toddlers

There is no greater blessing from our Father than to receive a child into the family.

Here at Canyon Hills we are committed to providing loving care to our babies. It is our honor to provide a safe, nurturing and loving environment for each child that enters our gates. We strive to provide a positive experience for each child and family by having a unique safety-check in system, clean toys, clean changing area and loving trained caregivers.

We have prepared this brochure to acquaint you and your family to our Nursery. If you have further questions or maybe suggestions please contact me, or our Nursery Coordinator, Katy Castner, we look forward to serving you and your children.

In His Service,

- Miss Pam and Miss Katy
